	Summary:
	This paper presents a proposal for a fundamental development concept of the Subotica Railway Junction (SRJ) in the 21st century. The concept is based on the researches concerning construction and development performed within the past 130 years. Three variant solutions within the intermodal SRJ concept are presented, adapted to the to the new urban development patterns of the city of Subotica. New technological solution for the intercity, regional, suburban and urban transport, new rolling stock designs as well as modern maintenance systems represent important part of the comprehensive SRJ solution. Along with the presented SRJ concept, also the procedure for the realization of the SRJ development program has been presented.
