 Summary:
Thermal power plant Ugljevik 3, planned as a Phase III construction of the complex thermal power Ugljevik, is located in the extended circle of the existing thermal power plants and earlier started and unfinished Thermal Power Plant II. Earlier existed geological and geotechnical investigations for the previous two phases, while the third phase at that time had not planned. Construction of the third phases power plant, demanded preliminary study of geotechnical characteristics of the terrain and conditions foundation structures. The study of mentioned characteristics have been conducted the first survey of the level of conceptual design. The results have provided a basic picture of the characteristics of terrain and are open to certain issues that had to be resolved with additional research phase of the main project. Mainlythe issues related to the structural and tectonic terrain slop seizmogenost the present faults. Additional research is defined by the position of faults, its elements and seismic activity, which is not active. Data obtained during field investigations and laboratory tests are sufficient for the analysis the foundation conditions of facilities and geostatic calkulation. Based on the selected representative parameters for the other communities has been proposed deep and shallow foundation structures, depending on the type of facility, its significance and impact on the geological medium.
